Faith In First
First graders explored the Gospel of John 9:1-41 for the 4th Sunday of Lent.
In this gospel Jesus opens the eyes of a man who was born blind. The man's neighbors and parents don't quite share his happiness when he is healed. They are worried about being connected to Jesus. But the man stands up to all of them and tells them Jesus certainly healed him! He is full of faith and takes that out to all the people.
First graders experienced first hand what it felt like to be blind. They each had a scarf to place over their eyes. They shared how it felt to not be able to see.....they could not run, or play like others. Some of the ways they felt were expressed in the words: lonely, scared and alone. But with Jesus we are never alone! They know what it is like to appreciate their sense of sight.

Shrek The Musical Junior
Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task – if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way!
