Principal Message

Greetings, Husky Families!

I am so excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year! Although this opening is unlike any that we have experienced in the past, the team at Cabarrus Charter Academy is committed to supporting our families during this unprecedented time. On Friday, July 31, 2020, our Board of Directors voted to open school fully mobile for the first nine weeks of the school year. This means that while school will open on August 19, 2020, as scheduled, students will learn in the mobile classroom only using Schoology, our learning management system (LMS). The Board of Directors will make a decision about a timeline for students to return to in-person learning at future board meetings.

At Cabarrus Charter Academy, we are prepared to support our families during this period of mobile learning. This week you will receive an introductory telephone call from your achiever’s classroom teacher. During that call, you will have the opportunity to request any needed support including access to an Internet-enabled device, nutrition services, or social and emotional service referrals. Classroom teachers will also be prepared to share additional details about the daily learning schedule, expectations for achiever participation, and parent learning opportunities for the new LMS.

Please join me every Sunday evening the month of August at 7:00 PM for FaceBook live meetings to answer any questions you may have as we prepare for the opening of school. Also, mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 18th. I will host a virtual Open House for parents to answer any final questions you may have before the first day of school.

Please find the 2020-2021 Student Supply lists below. Student's may not need all items for mobile learning, however once they're back in the building they will be needed. Included on this supply list are items for encore as well as their core classes. Should you have questions, please do not hesitate to ask your teacher.

Welcome back to school! We are excited to be the new school food service partner. We are A’viands, a K-12 by Elior company. We are delighted to have been selected to prepare the school meals for your children and we take feeding them seriously. Our dedicated team members are committed to providing your child with healthy, well-balanced, great tasting meals that keep them at their best in and out of the classroom!

Beginning Wednesday, August 13th, we are encouraging ALL families to complete the Free & Reduced lunch application even if you don't plan to use this benefit. As Ms. White has shared in the past, your willingness to complete the application assists the school in securing grant funding.

School Lunches During Mobile Learning

We are still working out the details for our School Lunch program while students are learning in the mobile classroom. We will be providing meal kits for our families that participate in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program to be picked up at the school. Please let us know here if you would be interested in this program.


Mobile learning will require any device that is able to connect to the internet. Your student's teacher will get more details on device needs, but in the meantime, please complete this short questionnaire here.

Get Involved

Our PTC (Parent Teacher Committee) is looking for help!

We would like to start the year off by showing our teachers and staff some appreciation when they return next week.

August 10th - Join us at the lower campus by 7:30 am to welcome all teachers back to the new school year. Signs and other celebratory items are encouraged.

August 12th - Help provide lunch for our staff during their training and preparation week. All items must be packaged and bought from either a restaurant or a store. Unfortunately, we can't have any homemade items this year. Please use the signup genius below. Drop off will be August 12th by 10:00 am.

On Site Uniform Sale

Join us on August 18th on Parent Drive to shop for your Uniform Needs. Please note, that student's will be required to be in uniform while learning virtually. All Uniform Wear will be on site from 10am-4pm. Families will be asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
