Riders are Readers - End of the Year and Summer
Edible Book Festival
This past weekend, the Friends of North East Library group held its 2nd annual Edible Book Festival. Woodstone 4th grader, Michael, entered a "Wonder"ful cake at the event. Michael said he made a spice cake in the shape of a book and then used fondant and icing to decorate it. Auggie's helmet is made all out of fondant. Great job, Michael!
Summer Reading
Don't let your children fall prey to the "summer slide". Studies show that students who don't read over the summer can fall further and further behind in school every year. Check out our summer reading libguide for fun reading activities local businesses offer and information about Woodstone's Summer Reading Challenge.
We are WILD about Reading!
For summer reading this year I want to see what Woodstone is reading. Using the hashtag #WoodstoneReads, post pictures of what your children are reading OR pictures of them reading to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Include something about the book for added fun. Then search the #WoodstoneReads hashtag and follow the Woodstone Library on social media to see what others are reading. Students who post(or parents post) at least 3 times will receive a bookmark ruler when they get back to school and be entered into a drawing for a $25 book fair gift certificate to our Fall Book Fair.
