Update From THIS I.F.
THANKFUL FOR YOU!
Struggle is part of it...
-----Sarah Ban Breathnach
I love you guys! I know that many of you feel like a mutiny of the coach should be on the agenda! Remember that I push you so that you can push your students. Stretching hurts and is uncomfortable--I promise I will support you through it! Trust me! Ask questions! My goal is the same as yours--STUDENT AND TEACHER SUCCESS! Believe in yourself, your abilities and that I will be here to catch you or pick you up when things are hard! Most of all believe in me and allow me to help you--you do not have to know the answer--I do not claim to have them all but WE must be a TEAM.
Have a restful and amazing Thanksgiving with your family!

Week upon our return PLCs will resume as scheduled. We will look at Benchmark data if we have not discussed it yet or need to continue. We will look at our Tier students if we have not done this recently.
Optional PD
With our new exercise program taking place on Mondays--we will not have optional PD in December. However, if you or your grade level is interested in learning about a topic--please let me know. If I do not know enough about it to do the training--I can invite someone else in to help you
Why Why Why
Try this!
1. student answers
2 Ask the class-why is that true? (or a follow up why question that is appropriate)
3. Students talk with a partner or group to discuss the why for 1-2 minutes
4. Whole group share out and come to a consensus as a class.
5. Ask the class another why is that true?
6. Repeat procedure

A few resources for you!
A few ACTIVITIES for you!
CURRICULUM WOWS IN THE BUILDING!
- 4TH GRADE Teachers learning about text structure and complexity at county PD last week and being strong contributors of knowledge! Love that you came back and are immediately putting ideas into action!
- Lisa Felton taking notes and meeting with Mrs. Kerley for PLC in my absence. Thank you so much!
- Jessica Herman--great data on a behavior student--love how you are adjusting with your student's needs!
- Lindsey--nice job with student created word problems--this is helping them to make the concept make sense. Activities like this during intervention can be great for all students and will support the teaching of Engage New York for your 90 minute CORE.
- 4th grade 85% of students proficient on math benchmark when we project to EOG equivalent! WOW!!
- 3rd grade--thanks for helping to get Mrs. Glad acclimated to the routines. You all are awesome and demonstrate teamwork to the highest levels.
- Several teachers working through some of our students learning to deal with high emotions and behaviors! Thanks for your efforts, patience and compassion--when it is hard--know that you have the support of your colleagues, Mrs. Lingle and myself. We may not be able to fix it but we can support.
- Mrs. Watts--Thanks for all you do to make sure Benchmark makeups were completed and still continued with your fluency! You are appreciated.
- Susan Fox thank you for your patience and perseverance with some special friends who need your knowledge and love! Thanks for all you do!
