February 9, 2018
As we conclude with our final grade level Family Night I smile with great joy and pride. Our students have worked hard to showcase their learning. Our teachers have collaborated across content areas to include art, music, PE, and more. I am truly proud of their planning and hard work in designing performance tasks that create meaningful learning that our students will surely remember.
Many thanks to our volunteers for making our Book Fair a HUGE success! Thank you and to Ms. Black and Ms. Frazier for hosting this wonderful opportunity. Reading is the root of success! Please keep our Mustangs reading!
Please note that next week will be a 4-day week as teachers have a professional development day on Friday, Feb. 16. Students do go to school on Monday, Feb. 19, as this is a weather makeup day for the hurricane earlier in the year.
Mark your calendars for Bellacino's Night on Tuesday, Feb. 13! As you order please let them know you are from Midway as 10% of all sales will go to our PTO to support our students.
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy a great book and a workout!
Yours truly,
Jan Fickling, Principal of Midway Elementary
