NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Note from the Superintendent
The 2022-23 school year started off last week, and we have had an excellent start. Each year finding new routines, setting the tone, and building excitement for what is possible all occur within the first few weeks of school. We have had excellent attendance by our student body. Research and our experience in HF-L clearly link attendance to both achievement and happiness. We have seen some COVID cases during the opening of school. This is now to be expected. The school district, is sending home COVID-19 tests that are required to be provided by NYSDOH. These tests are for your use as a family. Please refer to the operational guidance provided to schools or contact the school nurse with any questions you may have https://www.hflcsd.org/page/operational-guidance-for-k-12-schools-and-early-care-and-education-programs-to-support-safe-in-person-learning
We encourage you and your families to be engaged during our upcoming Fall Weekend activities. These activities combine the celebration of our alumni with the celebration of our future alumni. The activities, parades, and pride are wonderful examples of civic pride. Again, we are off to a great start and look forward to seeing you on campus throughout the school year.
-Gene Mancuso, Superintendent of Schools
