Moreover, the investments are specific and immobile. In case the traffic is not sufficient, the investments may mean wastage of huge resources.

2. It is a quick and more regular form of transport because it helps in the transportation of goods with speed and certainty.
From the first time steam train rolled over the railways of industrial England in early 1800's to the modern times when bullet trains carry thousands of passengers with incredible speeds and freight train carry substantial amount of worlds goods, trains enabled us to develop our civilization with unexpected consequences that nobody expected.
