Superintendent Search Update - Representatives from Leadership Associates (LA) provided an update on the search for PUSD’s next Superintendent at the December 14 Board Meeting. LA met with 50 groups, representing PUSD and the community, over a three-day period in November and also received 417 responses to an online survey. Feedback was incorporated into a position description. The position has been posted and applications are due January 16. LA will bring all applications to the Board on February 1 to select candidates for interviews which will take place later that month (Update begins at 1:10:00 of meeting video). Visit the Superintendent Search Page on the District website for more information.

Website Update: Happy to report we are in the home stretch of rolling out PUSD's new website. Template pages for the District and school sites have been created, staff training is taking place and we have begun the process of moving content over from the old site. We are tentatively scheduling a soft launch of the new site during February Break. If you are interested in a preview, a Technology Advisory Meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 30, 3:45-5:00pm, at the Havens Elementary Library. You can RSVP here.

Office Hours with Dr. V - As part of the ongoing effort to strengthen engagement across the district and the Piedmont Community, PUSD Director of DEI, Dr. Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard, is scheduling in-person and virtual "office hours" as an opportunity for small group dialogue about equity, social justice and engagement. In-person meetings will be held in Dr. V's office in the 40s building one floor below Millennium HS. Sign up for a face-to-face meeting. Dates available are January 30, February 27, March 13, April 24 and May 22. If you choose a virtual meeting, the link will be sent to you the day before. Choose the 15-minute time slot that best fits your schedule. This will not limit your ability to stay in the face-to-face meeting for the entire time. This schedule is designed to ensure all participants have the time to focus on the conversation.

Secondary School Plan for Student Achievement - At its December 14 meeting, the PUSD Board of Education approved the District's secondary schools’ respective School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA). The California Education Code requires school site councils to develop an SPSA. The purpose of the plan is to create a cycle of continuous improvement of student performance and to ensure that all students succeed in reaching academic standards set by the State Board of Education. The SPSA is developed with the input of all Site Council stakeholders and reflects the current educational needs of students. Visit the District website to view the plans, as well as Tri-School SPSAs that were presented on November 9.
