Some More Tips for Smore
Great Work Using Smore This Semester
Just a quick shout-out to all of you creating newsletters and disseminating them to your campus community.
We see you. We receive and read your newsletters. We appreciate you. Please don't hesitate to email Brian Prewitt or Jason Philyaw with suggestions, comments, questions and tips.
Brian has put together this primer to help you, and we've created templates for each campus. You are free to use your own, as well, but please make sure you are using the new editor in Smore because the older version lacks the "Translate" feature.
Below is a video tutorial on accessibility, and the importance of alt text and translation.Enjoy the Thanksgiving break. #RISDBelieves

Smore Tip No. 1 - Use the Separator
Please use the separator to, well, separate different bodies of text.
That's the first tip.
Smore Tip No. 2 - K.I.S.S.
Keep it short and sweet.
Less is more, when you're dealing with black words on a white background in an electronic newsletter.
Use the white space to your advantage.
Smore Tip No. 3 - Have someone else read the newsletter before sending to the masses.
Yes, you want to get it out. Yes, you want to send it at the same time each week. Yes, you want it to look great.
But, don't hit send without having at least one other person give it, at least, a proofread, and as a best practice, a full edit.
RISD Calendar
This Newsletter is for RISD Principals, APs and campus-designated Smore users.
It’s not necessary to subscribe. It's coming every month, once a month (we hope).
Please remember that unsubscribing from Blackboard messages at the link at the bottom of this message may prevent you from receiving future messages from your friends in Strategy & Engagement. Click wisely.
