Koch's Corner

Dear Leeds Future Stars Families,

I wish you health, happiness, and peace for the New Year. As we celebrate this new year, 2022, it is always a great time for looking back to the past, but more importantly, looking forward to the coming year. It is a time to reflect on the changes we want, or need, to make and resolve to follow through on those changes.

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and that your children are as excited to be back, as we are excited to have them! So far 2021 has been filled with energy and a passion for learning. I can see it on your kids’ faces and hear it in their conversations. They are eager to continue their learning and we are eager to teach them! As we enter 2022, we often create resolutions as this is a natural time to “reboot.” At Leeds Elementary School, we take this time to reemphasize our philosophy of continuous improvement, and our goal of giving kids what they need, when they need it. We live these words each day as we constantly adjust our instruction to meet the needs of our students. What that means to us is that each day, we strive to deliver the best instruction, based on what our kids each need individually. We believe that Leeds Elementary School is a GREAT school, in a GREAT school district, and in 2022 we will continue with our promise to meet the needs of each child, each day, so that they can reach their full potential.

Happy 2022

Mr. Koch

Principal, Leeds Elementary School

The weather in Iowa can be unpredictable. If the weather requires us to delay the start of our school day, cancel school for the day, or dismiss school early, information will be sent to families through Blackboard, our communication system. If you are not receiving District text messages, emails, or phone calls, please let us know so we can update your information in our system.

In addition to Blackboard, school closure information is also posted to our social media sites and the District website and shared with the local media.
