Spring Sports UPDATE
The MIAA Board of Directors voted today, March 16, 2020, to amend the start of the 2020 spring sports season in light of recent mandates from Governor Baker and recommendations from governing health agencies. The updated start date for the 2020 spring season is April 27, 2020.
These decisions are based on available information and are made in the best interest of our student-athletes, schools, and communities. These decisions will be revisited and adjusted by the MIAA as needed.
Important Message From The Mendon Neighbor Brigade
****We wanted to share the message we received from The Mendon Neighbor Brigade which contains great information if you want to help and also information if you are in need of assistance****
Dear Mendon & Upton Neighbors,
First and foremost we hope this message finds you and your loved ones well and in good health. As we find ourselves in such uncertain times the Mendon Neighbor Brigade has mobilized its efforts to try to help the families of our two communities. We know there are many families that receive food assistance from the schools and/or the Food Pantries in each town. While we are happy to support the food pantries in any way we can, we would like to offer another way to help as well.
Due to the COVID 19 Virus and its restrictions, it is not an option for us to make and deliver meals during this period of time. However, with the help and generosity of our community we would like to collect electronic gift cards for our families in need to be used at local restaurants or grocery stores.
If you would like to help:
1) We are looking for electronic gift cards, not physical cards to be purchased & emailed to us at: mendonma@neighborbrigade.org
2) Suggested Value: $25
3) Suggested Websites:
· www.giftcards.com and choose DoorDash or GrubHub as a vendor. There are over 60 local restaurants that are enrolled in these programs and many that will deliver.
· www.amazon.com and choose Grocery Stores such as Shaws or Whole Foods
· Have a favorite local restaurant that you want to support? Order a gift card directly from their website and have it emailed.
If you find yourself in a position of needing some assistance, please follow these steps:
1) Go to www.neighborbrigade.org/Mendon...
2) Select Help > Click here to request help
3) Create a username and password with a valid email address. This will be the email address used to send you the electronic gift card. This information is strictly confidential and will not be shared.
4) Once on the Form page, select "Miscellaneous" and then scroll to the bottom of the page where it says "How Can We Help - Other".
5) Please type into this form: # of people in the house, preference on type of gift card (restaurant or grocery) and if there are any food allergies in the house so we can best match a gift card to you.
As always, the Mendon Neighbor Brigade is a volunteer run organization and is always looking for new volunteers. If you would like to sign up to volunteer please go too: www.neighborbrigade.org/MendonMA.
Thank you!
The Mendon Neighbor Brigade
