Digital Learning Week
SAVE THE DATE!
At CCSD, we know that technology, combined with effective pedagogy and strong content standards will help us transform classrooms. Transforming classrooms is the goal as we implement a 1:1 initiative in our district. As part of this initiative, we are striving to provide our students with educational environments that support them as they explore, inquire, interpret and interact. Teacher leaders play a critical role in the process of transforming CCSD. Knowing this, we want to recognize these leaders and use their expertise to help show the connection between content, pedagogy, technology and transformation.
As a way to recognize teacher leaders, we invite educators to teach a technology-infused lesson as part of our 2nd Annual Digital Learning Week Contest. We know teachers work tirelessly to create new opportunities for learning for students and we would like to showcase these talents and show others the amazing things educators are doing with technology. If you would like to join in helping actively spread innovative practices and transform classrooms, then sign up to participate in this event!
We look forward to seeing how Technology is Transforming CCSD!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED
♦ Plan a lesson that showcases the effective use of technology. Teachers can partner together to create a lesson. Note: prizes for partners will be split.
♦ Submit your desire to participate to the help desk at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Wednesday, April 15th for High School teachers or Wednesday, May 13th for Middle and Elementary School teachers. With your submission include: school name, subject, lesson objective, type of technology being used, and the date and time you would like to be observed during the observation week.
♦ Observations will take place at the requested time during the designated week.
♦ A panel of judges will meet to discuss all observed lessons and declare district winners.
♦ Four winners will be selected; two elementary, one middle, and one high school (this is subject to change based on participation). Each winner will choose their prize(s) from a list of devices and accessories provided by IMS. These will be for exclusive use in the winner's classroom for as long as he/she is employed by the district. NOTE: if teachers partner together and win, they will share the prize(s).
♦ Winners will be announced on May 27, 2015 and recognized at the June 8, 2015 School Board meeting.
♦ Winners will be invited to be presenters at the district's Summer Technology Conference.
