Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month Video Selection
Our students have also vetted several video. Here's this week's selection:
This video talks about a more diverse selection of the Latinx history and culture. It also speaks about how the Latinx community is an essential backbone for our country and how they should be valued as they do a lot for US Citizens. There is also a lot of representation of how traditions from their culture were carried on in their own family.
This video explains a lot on the topic of young Latinx influence on the US. The younger participants in this video also talk a lot about identity and just wanting that sense of belonging both in the US and with their own Latin culture in their homes. The main topic for this video is talking about inclusion in the Latin community and how no matter what your skin tone is or how “Latin” you are, you should still be accepted in your culture and in both the Latin community and the US.
This video is more talking about the facts of celebrating the month. This includes when the month starts, how it began, and even who started the celebration of the Latin culture.
