Free Meals for ALL, BUT Please Complete Meal Application......
School Meals and Applications: I am pleased to announce that students will continue to receive free meals this school year regardless of your child's eligibility. The Cecil County Public Schools Food & Nutrition Department encourages all families to fill out a free and reduced meal benefit application for the 2021-2022 school year. Although meals will be free for all students this school year there are many benefits to the school district as a whole by filling out a FARM application. Below are some of the benefits of filling out an application, however if you have any questions about meal benefits or the school lunch program please contact the Food & Nutrition Department at (410) 996-6257.
Reasons for filling out a Free and Reduced Meal Benefit Application:
Meal benefit Applications are confidential. The information collected from the application is used solely for the purpose of identifying one’s eligibility for meal benefits. Everything is kept confidential and is not shared with anyone. Data collected from the application is compiled to determine eligibility rates which helps to determine Title 1 funding for schools.
Title 1 funding helps to provide programs for schools to enhance educational services for all students.
If one’s application qualifies for meal benefits it will qualify your student for P-EBT (Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer) benefits. Go to the following link for more information: https://dhs.maryland.gov/p-ebt/P-EBT is intended to cover the cost of a breakfast, lunch, and snack for children who qualify for meal benefits. The amount is valued at $6.82 per day for each child that qualifies.
