Braemar Mission Statement
Heading into the Holiday Season!
During the next two weeks we have several events planned for students:
On Friday, December 9 and Monday, December 12 students in Kindergarten to grade 7 will have the opportunity to shop at the Holiday Market, organized by our amazing BPAC. All items are just a toonie. We know that students will enjoy this experience that highlights the joy of giving to others. Please contact your child's teacher if you have further questions including scheduled day for your child's class to attend the market.
On Wednesday December 14 and Thursday December 15, primary students will be performing for the Winter Concert. Please see below for further details. Tickets for this event were distributed to primary classes last week. Please contact your child's teacher if you have not received your tickets. Please note that two tickets per family were sent home as we do need to be within capacity limits of the Fire Marshall. Please do not forget your tickets on the evening of your child's performance.
Until the next bulletin,
Sandra Singh, Principal & Cheryl Ham, Vice Principal
Thank you Movie Night Volunteers!

Braemar Safety Reminders and Requests
Snow days and After School Supervision:
Please give yourself ample time to arrive to school during wintery weather days. Please be very careful when walking on the school grounds during these cold days. We have a snow plan that includes clearing and salting the main pathways and walkways to ensure safe school access that has been shared in previous bulletins. We request that you use the cleared routes for the safest ways to travel to and from the school. Please also supervise your child(ren) closely after school. It has come to our attention that some students are left after school on their own to play without adult supervision on school grounds. There is a potential in these situations in which children will engage in unsafe play.
Your help in keeping our community a safe space for all is greatly appreciated!
Daily Health Checks:
We continue to take note of children coming to school that are sick. We kindly request that you please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. It is important that we support our school community in this regard. Please be sure to notify the school through the Safe Arrival application if your child will be absent from school.
Staff Parking Lot and School Cul de Sac:
We have noticed a number of vehicles entering the school parking lot during school hours (7:30-4:00 pm). The parking lot is for staff only. There is no student drop off or pick up in the parking lot. Additionally, a reminder to parents and care givers that there is no pick up or drop off in the school's cul de sac from 8:30-9:30 am and 2:30-3:30 pm. Administration and Braemar Safety Traffic volunteers have worked very hard over the course of four years to have the district approve signage which is located at the three way stop indicating that vehicles do not enter the cul de sac. We have been fortunate that no child has been injured as a result. Please do your part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students. There is parking available on the main road of Evergreen Place where your child(ren) can be dropped off. We appreciate everyone's cooperation with this matter.
Lost and Found Items:
We have a number of unclaimed items. Please see photos below. If it belongs to your child, please remind them to pick it up or alternatively, you are welcome to drop by before or after school to do so.

- Gr. 1/2 classes: Dressed-up Penguins (Ideas could be to add jewelry, wear fancy penguin clothes to look elegant, etc.).
