Healthy People 2020
The New and Improved Guidelines for Better Health
SPS Improves Health Goals for Students
Springfield Public Schools are always actively aware of what will benefit their students' health.
Time for Change
SPS is growing and learning with their students. The goal is always to aid in the students' success, and below are a few examples of how that will be achieved.
NEW POLICIES
Improved Scheduling
Studies have shown that a 4 day school week improves the drive of students, which leads to a more successful experience. From now on, schools will be in session from 8am-4pm Monday through Thursday.
More Lunch Options
Three food chains will be available in the cafeterias. These options will be healthy. Tropical smoothy, for example, will offer delicious smoothies, wraps, and salads for breakfast and lunch for students to eat healthy and happy.
Accessible Councilors
It is important for students to feel safe to talk to an adult about any problems they might be having or to seek advice. Councilors will be available from 7am-8am and 4pm-5pm every school day.
