Principal Newsletter
From the Desk of Mrs. Riley
April 19, 2018
This is the time of year that we all wonder how we got here so fast. We are in the final seven weeks of school and the days in May and June are action packed! Please continue to refer to the calendar and newsletters throughout the coming weeks. Also, continue to monitor your child's study habits to ensure their continued success. Many special events are happening but the teachers will continue to teach and our students will continue to learn. It is challenging to stay focused at the end of the year. Let us work together to help our students stay the course and finish strong!
Happenings at school this week:
- A huge thank you to all of the families who have returned their Race for Education labels to school and sponsored their children for the walk. Please join us for the race which will take place on Friday, May 11 at Warminster Park. All parents are welcome to attend. All funds raised will be used for safety and security enhancements. All faculty and staff will be attending a Safe and Sound Schools training session next week to begin this process.
- Please note that the Summer uniform goes into effect on Monday, April 30th.
- Good Luck to Mrs. Hofner and our 3rd Grade class who will be participating in the National Catholic Religion Bowl next week!! They have been working very hard in school getting prepared to put their knowledge of Religion to the test!
- On Thursday, April 26, out Student Council will be sponsoring an Earth Day Celebration! There are many wonderful activities planned for the day. Students may wear their gym uniforms to school that day and are asked to bring a beach towel as we will be eating lunch outdoors.
Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!
Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.
God's Peace,
Mrs. Barbara Riley

Race for Education & How to Donate
On Friday, May 11, 2018, Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School will be conducting our first Race for Education. The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise $20,000 to be used towards security enhancements and facility updates for our school.
Every child was sent home with a sheet of labels. We are offering prizes for labels that students bring back into school. We will then send out mailers to those addresses we have received. The last day to bring in labels will be Tuesday, May 1st.
If you wish to donate directly online, here is our race site link: http://www.race4ed.com/olgc/. Simply type in the name of the student you wish to sponsor & donate. We encourage all students to have at least one sponsor. Please feel free to share this link with anyone you wish. The link will also be provided on our mailers which will be sent out to possible donors in the coming weeks.
