School Options for Talladega County Schools

Deciding between LES and Beacon Virtual Academy

Beacon Virtual Academy

Beacon Virtual Academy registration will close July 29. The link for BVA registration can be found here. This is if you choose the complete virtual/online option for your child. PowerSchool Registration will still be required.

Important Preparation Information: Everyone Follow 3 Steps Below

1. Click & Complete Device Orientation (all parents)

1st - 5th will receive devices on shared dates if all items are completed. Kindergarteners will receive iPads shortly after training, but device orientation still needs completion.

3.Ensure Registration Is Complete-Click for PowerSchool

Registration and Device Waiver must be completed on PowerSchool to receive a device.

REGISTRATION continued:

All students, traditional and virtual, must complete PowerSchool registration. The link for PowerSchool registration can be found here. New students, including kindergarten students, will need to create an account. Returning students will need their snap code. You can contact the school at 256-315-2565 or email julie.lundy@tcboe.org or jhooks@tcboe.org for your snapcode if needed. Students will not be placed in a class until this process is completed.

School Supply List

This list contains basic school supplies needed for starting school. Some items will need to be replaced as they wear out or are used up. Each child is encouraged to have his/her own pencil pouch to keep personal school supplies close by (see each grade list for preference). * Denotes items that are optional, but appreciated.

COVID-

  • Per Governor Ivey’s current mask order, children over six will be required to wear a face covering. Those under six are encouraged but not required. Mask should avoid advertising alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, mature content, or political messaging.

  • Parents are asked to check students' temperatures daily and keep them at home should they have a temperature of 100.4 or higher. Please keep them at home if they exhibit symptoms such as cough, congestion, sore throat, trouble breathing, gastrointestinal issues, and loss of smell or taste.

  • If a child begins exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms during the school day, they will be stationed in the LES Care Center and you will be contacted to come get them.

  • LES staff will check student and employee temperatures daily.
