Jaguar Corner

Hello Jaguars!

  • Congratulations to our 6th grade DARE Graduates!!!
  • Thank you for your wonderful show of support for our great staff during Teacher and Staff Appreciation week! Your thoughtful notes and supportive cards are greatly appreciated! Thank you for partnering with us as we work tirelessly to provide the best possible education we can for all the lil' Jaguars. Our staff is already signing up for summer workshops, conferences, grad school courses, and R7 summer school. The learning never stops and we strive to get better and support our students. We are in a great school, great district, and even greater community. We are most fortunate here in Lee's Summit!
  • THANK YOU to our SVE PTA for their wonderful support of our teachers this week!
  • Happy Mother's Day! Happy day to all the Grandmother's, Auntie's, Mimi's, Gigi's and MawMaw's that provide tremendous love and support to all of our lil' Jaguars! Happy Mother's Day to my mom, Andrea!
Big picture

The PTA needs to have 25 PTA members present in order to vote on the revised bylaws. Unfortunately, we did not reach this goal at the 6th grade DARE graduation on Thursday, May 10th. So, the PTA is scheduling a unit meeting (open to all PTA members) at the 6th grade recognition evening on Thursday, May 24th, at 6:00 pm. This will only take 5 minutes, but we do ask if you are a PTA member, we would appreciate it if you could attend to vote on the revised bylaws, which are available on the PTA website: Thank you!

Kindergarten Screening

If you have an incoming Kindergartner to SVE for 18-19, here is the link to sign up for a Kindergarten Screening this summer. Please note when you click on the link, SVE and other schools are Kindergarten screening location sites. Please be sure to select the correct school location when you sign up. Please call the school office if you have questions. Spread the word to other families that may have a Kindergartner for the 18-19 school year.

End of Year Progress Reports

Fourth quarter progress reports will be sent electronically on Friday, May 25. As an added measure of security, the district requires a password to be entered before the download will open. The password required on each document is the student number. If you do not know your student's number, please log into the PowerSchool parent portal to access that information from the student user name info page.

2018-2019 Online Enrollment

Dear Lee’s Summit R-7 Families,

Lee’s Summit R-7 families will soon receive information and instructions on how to enroll their children for the 2018-2019 school year. Through the district’s online enrollment, families are able to complete registration from any location with Internet access. New for this year will be a smart phone or iOS capability to complete the online process. Families will be receiving additional information about online enrollment from their schools with the Power School Registration (formerly known as InfoSnap) enrollment portal opening on July 13.

As we near the end of this school year, we want to remind you that registration for the upcoming year will be online in the month of July. YOU MUST be able to log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal account to begin the registration process. This link will take you to the login page. We encourage each of you to test your account in May to make sure you can get into the system and are not slowed down by this in July. The directions for logging into Powerschool can be found here. If you have any problems logging in, please contact your school office. Thank you!

Student Immunizations

Jackson County Health Dept. will be doing immunization clinics at Stansberry Leadership Center on 8/1/18 from 8 am to 3 pm and 8/13/18 from 1 pm to 5 pm for any student needing updated immunizations.

LAST BOX TOP collection of the school year will be May 18th!! Be sure to send in ALL Box Tops that may be laying around—we don’t want them to expire!

The top 2 classes will receive a $25 gift certificate for their classrooms.
