Dear ROYALS Families,

We had a good week here at Quist! Quist highlights this week include Seamus, our therapy dog, and his first day at Quist. He brought joy to many Quist students and staff. Our 7th grade teachers and students participated in a field trip to International Towne. Our students learned a lot, had fun, and came back tired. I was told that many of them fell asleep on the bus back to school.

Please take a moment to read the District communication you received yesterday titled COVID-19 Community Update. Included in this communication is information regarding potential needs to learn remotely in the event of staff shortages. Thus far, our teachers, counselors, Instructional Coaches, and administrative staff have been able to cover our staffing shortages at Quist. As we move into the flu and cold season, we will do our best to communicate in advance as much as possible should we need to move a learning community to remote learning. If and when that happens, you will receive everything you need to support your student’s remote attendance. In the event of remote learning, students will follow their schedule just the same as if they were with us here in person.

Finally, please join me in thanking our Veterans on staff for their service to our country.

  • Mr. Andrew Bruggeman-Green, 7th grade Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher
  • Mrs. Raven Kershaw, 7th grade Math & Science Teacher
  • Mr. Rick Martinez, 6th grade Math & Science Teacher
  • Mr. Mike Zaragoza, Night Custodian

I know that some of you have served our country or have family members who have served. Happy Veterans Day from all of us at Quist. We are grateful for your service.

Best,

Trina Norris-Buck, Ed.S.
