Wellness Wednesday Topic: How DO I feel?

This week in our SEL lesson, we began the discussion of identifying feelings and needs. The amazing thing about feelings is there is often a range of emotion that can fit into an emotional group. Happiness, for example, is an entire rainbow of emotions. So when we think about feelings and emotions, Chargers, remember that no single word captures the same experience for everyone. It's okay if you feel your emotions in a different way than someone else. That's pretty normal!

Senior Strike!

The Class of 2021 is ready to strike out on the last steps toward life after high school! Our school counseling and entire S3 team is here to support you. Over the course of this year, we will have many opportunities for you to engage with us and receive information, guidance, and resources that will help make this an exciting yet manageable journey. The first of these events occurred early this summer: Virtual College Night. The next component will begin in mid September: Senior Conferences. All seniors must complete The Senior Survey by September 8. Please share this link with your senior friends who may need your encouragement to respond.

Two goals for this week:

  1. View the Virtual College Night presentation.
  2. Visit the Senior Strike webpage.

SEL (Social Emotional Learning)

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) kicked off this week. The first several weeks of our SEL lessons will focus on self-awareness. We hope you will visit our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) webpage and view this lesson again with your parents. Good discussion questions for this week:

  1. What emotion is easiest for you to talk about?
  2. What emotion do you want to learn to better manage?
