Loveland High School
August 5, 2021
Welcome Mr. James
Loveland Families, Staff, and Community Members:
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! Twenty-four years ago, I began my professional career as a teacher at Loveland High School and proudly worked with graduating classes from 1998-2004. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to return and be a part of this amazing school - hopefully a return to normalcy. Preparation has been underway for an incredibly exciting beginning to the year. Staff has begun to return and get ready for our students arriving on August 16th and 17th.
Please read this newsletter carefully for important dates and times clearly stating when students return and how families can ensure that your student is registered and ready. Again, I already LOVE Loveland High School and am truly humbled to have the opportunity to serve your families!
Please let me know how I can support your students in having the most positive transition back to school after crazy COVID. (Also, let's ensure that we are all doing our part during this pandemic to decrease COVID cases and lead our communities out of harm's way from the Delta variant.)
I can't wait to meet your student and begin this journey! Go Red Wolves!
Sincerely,
Michael James
Principal
Student Schedules
All student schedules will be posted on Campus Portal (Infinite Campus) by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10th. Please see below for important dates and information regarding schedule change requests:
Students who notice a mistake/error on their schedules should contact their counselor via email. Scheduling mistakes and incorrect placements are the highest priority and need to be addressed as soon as possible. Please see the Counseling Staff link on the LHS Counseling webpage for counseling caseloads and counselor email addresses.
Students who have "See Counselor" or "Add a Class" listed in their first semester schedule may either: 1) email their counselor, or 2) stop by the LHS counseling office (no appointment necessary) from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13th. Only students with “See Counselor” or “Add a Class” on their schedules will be permitted to meet with their counselor at this time.
Students who wish to change their schedules for any other reason can submit a Schedule Change Request Form after schedules are posted and prior to the August 19th deadline. All forms must be filled out digitally and include electronic parent signatures. Please note that no changes will be made until the week of August 16th so that all new students can be registered.
All changes will be made on a space-available basis. With many classes already reaching capacity, very few open seats are currently available.
A master schedule of all classes will be available on the LHS website when student schedules are posted on August 10th.

Seniors are welcome to come and paint a parking spot that is designated their own until their Senior Year is over. Wear white clothing, and be ready to get messy with color! If you have any questions, please contact Molly Davies.
School Supply List
LHS does not supply a supply list as each student's supplies will be dependent on their individual schedule. Teachers will provide supply lists to students during the first days of class. Backpacks are available in the Main Office if your student would like one.
Chromebooks
Chromebooks will be checked out to students on Thursday, August 19th (9th & 10th) and Friday, August 20th (11th & 12th). All students should bring their Chromebook and charging cord to all classes beginning Monday, August 23rd.
Transportation
To maximize student ridership, eligible elementary, middle school, and high school families are required to apply for transportation services. Please submit a separate application for each eligible student in your household to request transportation services. Students that have already applied and been approved for transportation services during the 2020-21 school year do not need to reapply for the 2021-22 school year unless they have changes to their transportation request or information.
Requirements for previous applicants to reapply include:
Students that have changed school or home address for 2021-22
Parent/Guardian contact information (email, phone number) changed for 2021-22
Students entering Junior or Senior year of high school for 2021-22
Space available transportation applications for 2021-22
Transportation will be provided for qualified students with disabilities who have special transportation designated on their IEP or 504 plan, as well as students who qualify for applicable services under the McKinney-Vento Act or our English Language Development program.
Space-available riders will not be granted access until all eligible riders are accounted for. All transportation service options are subject to change in order to uphold safety guidelines. Video cameras may be used on school vehicles for the safety and security of students and staff.
Contact the Transportation Department: 970-613-5185 or email transportationrouting@tsd.org

Senior Citizens (over 65) can get a free Golden Pass at the District Office (800 South Taft Avenue).

Lockers will only be issued to students who request them. Students who are interested in obtaining a locker must complete the attached form: LHS Locker Request. Lockers will be issued the first few weeks of school, and numbers and combinations will be visible in Infinite Campus once assigned. Please see the Campus Monitors for any questions.
