Memorial Day

Resources brought to you by KET

Memorial Day, celebrated the final Monday in May each year, commemorates the lives of American military men and women who have given their lives in the defense of our country.

Originally celebrated post-Civil War as "Decoration Days," the tradition involves family members gathering to clean and place flowers at the graves of deceased family members and ancestors.

Below, find resources for your classroom on Memorial Day, on how to celebrate fallen heroes, and on how to support the troops that made it home. More resources can be found in the repositories within KET Encyclomedia.
