A Message From Dr. Hinson

Hello Stuber Families,

Happy Mothers' Day to all the women who show up and show out for kiddos everyday! I sure hope your family shows love to you today. The past week was a wonderful celebration of teachers. Thank you for supporting PTO! They loved on our teachers big, and it is so appreciated. The upcoming week is state testing. Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will take the STAAR test. As I have said before, this test is one moment and it does not define who a student is or who they will become. We place much more emphasis on who our students are as people. The kind that help a younger student tie their shoes, who holds the door and says good morning, who cleans up just because it is right and not for a reward, who sits on the buddy bench and talks with a new friend- these are the characteristics that truly matter and will take each student very far. We do want our students to do their absolute best and ask that you help us create the environment that will allow them to do just that. Parents please make sure they get plenty of sleep, eat breakfast, have positive mornings, and then say "you are great" as they leave because they are and just in case you were wondering -you are as well! We are 10 days away from sweet summertime. Your support and willingness to abide by rules, calm fears, communicate with us, and just offer a smile as you drop off your kiddo has helped us more than you know!

Thank you parents for your support!

Congrats Texas Elementary Art Meet Winners!

Congratulations to the House of Fomento who once again was House winner for the month of April. We look forward to our last assembly which will determine who is the winner for the year and whose flag will fly ALL summer! The last assembly will be an outdoor assembly on May 17th @ 8AM for Grades 3-5 and 8:45 for Grades K-2. Parents whose student is being recognized will receive an email invitation from the classroom teacher. It will be broadcast via Facebook Live!

This week we continue to focus on Self-control but also Essential 21- Be positive, live a happy life, and be the best person you can be! May we all follow this essential.

Yearbooks are HERE!

Mrs. Amy Darling (Kinder teacher) did a fabulous job coordinating our yearbook this year. We appreciate her hard work! We have a limited supply available for purchase. On Monday May 10th, the MySchoolBucks Link will open for those who wish to purchase a yearbook. This is a first come first serve scenario. Yearbooks will be given to the students as orders are placed daily. The link should be set so only the number of yearbooks that exists can be purchased. However, if for some reason more are purchased than available refunds will be issued. The time stamp of when the order was placed will serve as the guide for who receives a yearbook. The link will be disabled after May 20th or when yearbooks sell out.
