Parent Pick Up is at 3:50 pm
We recognize that the end of the day is valuable time for parents and that we have a lot of parents that pick up their students. Our parking lot is often crowded and this can add a layer of stress and frustration for parents. However, picking up your students early can also add a layer of stress to teachers and students alike. Please do not plan on picking up your students early everyday. It is very disruptive to the end of the day routines class room teachers and students have.
We know that there are often unavoidable reasons that occur and require a student to be picked up early. Please communicate with the teacher and the front office early in the day so we can make a plan that will work best for everyone with the least amount of disruption to end of day routines.
Parents should not enter the double doors leading in the the main part of the school until the 3:50 parent pick up bell rings. We are trying to get all of our bus students and walkers out of the building before the halls get crowded with parents.
Thank you for your patience and understanding with the end of the day pick up procedures. This is for the safety of all of our students so that we can assure they all make it home at the end of the day.
School Dismissal Manager
Over the past month we have on average about 20-25 changes daily in students end of day routine. This is 20-25 phone calls to the office that did not take place because parents used School Dismissal manager. It works and once you have used it, you will find it is very convenient.
If you need help accessing your account please call Miss Terry in the office. She will be happy to help you.
If your child has a doctor appointment and needs to be picked up early, you do not need to let the office know of this change in school dismissal. We will call your child to the office once you arrive to the school to pick them up. Please take into account it takes a few minutes for your child to be located as they are not always in their classrooms when you arrive so arrive a few minutes early to pick up your child. We cannot have students called out of class until you arrive at the school to sign them out.
REMINDERS: Student Drop Off and Pick Up
Student Drop-Off : Drop off time- No earlier than 9AM
Parent Drop off: Please use the designated loop to drop off your students if you do not want to walk them into the school. The loop in the parking lot is not a drop off area. If you wish to come in with your student/s, please park and walk in with them. Students should not be walking in the parking lot with out an adult. They are not as visible to other drivers and we do not want a student getting hit in the parking lot. Please remember the speed in the parking lot is 5 mph and in the school zone along Nelson it is 20 mph.
Parent Pick up: Students should be picked up by 3:55pm
Parent pick up time is not the best time to talk to your child's teacher if you have concerns. Staff often have meeting after school and we need your help in having your students picked up on time. Thank you!
Parents may not go out to the bus loop to get students off the bus. Once students are on the bus they are to remain on the bus unless the school made a mistake putting a student on the bus. Our goal is to have buses leaving the school between 3:50 and 3:55 so that students can arrive at their bus stops on time.
