Happy Friday Park Sharks! Thank you to everyone for a great week here at Worthington Park Elementary. We are continually proud of our students and their progress. While next week is only two days, we look forward to seeing our Sharks on Monday.
Below are a few quick messages and reminders for the coming week. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to our main office or me directly. Have a great weekend and Go Sharks!

Yesterday's Schoolwide Safety Drill
I wanted to thank the Worthington Park community for their support this school year as we continue to practice our safety protocols here at school. Yesterday's drills were very successful and went just as we had intended.
Part of the drill was centered on communication with local authorities as well as communication with our families. We sent both email and text alerts for our drills. If you did not receive these notifications please take a minute to review your contact information in our school system and feel free to make any needed adjustments. Emergency Data Review Instructions.
Parent Drop Off Loop Reminders
As the weather begins to turn and more snow comes into our forecast, just a few quick reminders for a safe and quick parent drop off.
- Student Drop off starts at 7:25 when the building opens
- Please make sure to use the loop in the back of the school as the front loop is for School Buses and the spots are for volunteers and visitors.
- Please make sure to pull all the way to the front of the loop so we can accommodate as many cars as possible. Avoid passing vehicles unless directed from staff.
- If possible- please have your student exit your vehicle on the passage side only
- PLEASE STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE and allow staff to assist your child.
If you are dropping off a student after the tardy bell (7:40) you can bring them to the front of the building - main entrance. Thank you for helping make this process smooth and safe for our students and families.
Winter Weather Reminder
While we have had beautiful weather this past week, we know that cold temperatures are headed our way. We encourage all parents to start sending students with coats, hats, and gloves in their bookbags daily. As a school- we always try to utilize our beautiful grounds and playground as much as possible. Even in winter months, our students will be going outside as long as the temperature at or above 20 degrees. Below is more information from our District Elementary Handbook. Thank you for helping keep our Park Sharks warm!
Weather and health permitting, we expect all children to go outside for recess. In our schools, when the weather is dry/dry enough, and the temperature is 20 degrees or higher, real temperature, or wind-chill, we plan to take students outside for recess. It is critically important that parents/guardians send students appropriately dressed for the weather conditions and seasons.
School Fee Reminder
Just a reminder to our families to make sure that you have submitted the school fees for this school year. Fees may be paid through My Payments Plus account. Thank you to everyone who has already submitted these. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to our school office at (614) 450-5500.
Worthington Dyslexia Workshop
Worthington Schools is hosting a parent workshop on dyslexia on December 6th at the Worthington Education Center. More information and specifics can be found in the flyer below.
π’π¦ Shark Shout Outs π’π¦
This school year we have been celebrating all of the great things our students have been doing in the classroom, hallways, and playground. Our team has been teaching our students about what it means to be a "PARK S.H.A.R.K." I am happy to share that we have already had over 1,500 shout outs this school year.
Each and every Friday we pull a few of our Shark Shout Out Winners to participate in a fun Friday (aka Fri-Yay) video celebration with a quick game. We are so proud of our students and hope you will take time to celebrate as well! If you wanted to check out the Friday Videos click the link to our Youtube Channel below.
