Oak Crest Family Tiger Topics

May 8-12 is Staff Appreciation Week
Our teachers, paras, social worker, specialists, office staff, janitors, cooks, all do amazing things daily for our Oak Crest students, your children! I encourage you to find a way to express your gratitude next week to any or all staff that have made a difference in your child's school year.
Two ideas:
1. Help your child write personal notes/cards to staff members.
2. Food/Treats!! Sign up to bring a dessert/snack/treat to put in our teacher lounge this week. This special gift is a great way to thank everyone! Use this link to sign up:
Tiger Pride!
We are quickly approaching the finish line, and we are having a lot of fun! As a school we are working hard to think and talk about all the things we have accomplished and all the growth we have made. There is so much to be proud of! Talk to your kids about what they are proud of, and what they do that makes you proud.
As we visit our community and new places, we want kids to be proud of their behavior and the school they represent. Our goal is for kids to be proud of who they are and how they are seen by others.
As the principal of Oak Crest, the students and staff here make me proud everyday!

TIGER TARGET (May 8-12) : I can be PROUD of progress.
Sometimes, we only feel pride when we finish first, or reach our goal. When you get better at something or make progress towards a goal, you should be proud. Humans are not perfect, and will never be perfect. Celebrate the progress you make and the good things you do on your way to being your best self.
May 15-19 : I can be proud of others.
May 22-25 : I can take pride in my school.
End of Year Reminders/Updates:
*With the weather changing, more kids are riding bikes to school. If your child is doing this, they need to have permission from you on file in the office. Email the school or stop in the office to fill out a form. T Bikes parked at our school should be locked up and are not our responsibility.
*If at the end of the school day you are picking up students early, having them ride with others, walk to practice, etc. The school needs written permission to the office and homeroom teacher. Your child's safety is our highest importance and we will not change their end of day routine without a parents direct permission.
*This summer, we will not send iPads home. We will collect them the last week of school. Families are expected to hold onto their charging bricks and cables. You will not receive a new one next year.
*Summer school registration is full. IF you have not registered and want to be on the waiting list please call the office.
