Franklin Family Picnic!

Join us for a Franklin Family Picnic on Thursday, October 11th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. We will be out on the blacktop by the playground! The PTO has generously provided all beef hot dogs, buns, plates, napkins, forks, and condiments. We ask that all families who attend bring a side dish (last names beginning with A - R) and a dessert (last names beginning with S - Z) to share with others. Please bring them with you if you attend, DO NOT bring them to school before the event. Families will also need to bring their own beverages. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be cancelled.

History Fest!

History Fest is Friday, October 11th! Make sure if your student signed up to bring a lunch from home, they do so. Chaperones, please meet at your child's classroom at 8:45 a.m. for directions and to get your small group! Thanks for volunteering!

What we are learning!

Reading

Students will work on the first two comprehension standards which are main idea and making inferences. Students will take a weekly assessment that will come home so you can see how they are doing on these standards.

Math

Students will be working on the standards of Multi-Digit multiplication and long division. Assessments are given every 7 to 10 days. Please look for math tests coming home so you can see how your student is doing!

Writing

Students will start to write a personal narrative about our field trip to History Fest. Students will learn and practice the attributes of a personal narrative.

Science

Students will learn about technology, rocks, and the water cycle this month in science!

Second Step

Students will begin weekly lessons on social and emotional learning. Students will learn about empathy, respect, listening with attention, being assertive, and learning about people's differences. This program is something that the entire school will be participating in each week in their classrooms.
