SHISD Mid-Week Message

Promoting Great Things in a Great School District

Big image

Thankful and Grateful

All Spring Hill ISD campuses came together recently to host a Veteran's dinner and celebration. It consisted of a dinner prepared by our food service department and performances by students from all four campuses. The event was well attended and we had Panther family members representing all branches of the U.S. Military. After dinner the Veterans and their families were guests at the last Panther football game where they were recognized at half time.

I am thankful that Spring Hill ISD still takes time to thank and recognize our Veterans. At a time in our country where there is so much anti-American sentiment, Spring Hill still stands as a shining example of pride in our community and country. The staff and students that make up the Panther family are some of the most supportive, caring and service minded that I have ever been around. Thank you to the 250 employees in Spring Hill ISD that dedicate their lives to the service of our students.

Thank you also to the many parents, community members, and businesses that support this great school district. I am so thankful to be able to serve as your superintendent.

I hope everyone in the Panther Nation has a restful and memorable week off. You deserve it!

May you always be blessed with enough. ~ Steve Snell

Principal Recognition

This week we highlight the junior high school leadership team of Mike Moore and David Lynch. These two administrators have done an excellent job this year and we thank them for all they do for the students and staff of SHJH. Here are some comments from teachers and staff:

  • Mr. Moore is always supportive and willing to give of his time to teachers and students. When I was introducing the Bluebonnet program to the sixth graders, he came to the library and read a chapter of one of the Bluebonnet books to each of the sixth grade classes. He is always encouraging and gently leading us to expand and try new things.
  • I appreciate Mr. Lynch and Mr. Moore for their openness and approach-ability. Anytime I have an issue, they are more than willing to listen and help in any way possible.

SHJH takes 1st place in Hallsville

The Math-Science team took home 1st place overall and several individual medals at the Hallsville meet. They are a hard working group of kids. Great job! In case you are wondering... it was crazy hair day at the junior high.

SH Culinary Arts students attended the Region 7 Food Service Show

SH culinary arts students attended the Region 7 Food Service Show at Maude Cobb Activity Complex. The purpose of the show was to introduce new foods for school cafeterias. Each vendor had samples of their food and students were able to taste any or all of it and complete a survey letting the vendors know whether it was bad, OK, or great. Mrs. Rice, the culinary arts teacher, and the students picked up some good information and ideas for the cooking labs.
