Principal's Point
Though we have only been back from the winter break for two weeks, we are definitely in the swing of things and enjoying the fresh start that January always brings. We have seen a slight uptick in Covid cases, but I am incredibly proud of our staff for working together to make sure our scholars continue to have a positive school experience. It takes a village to make TE the best place for scholars and I am grateful for our school community! Let's have a great wee on purpose!

News You Can Use
Reporting Cases of COVID-19
Please continue to keep scholars home if they are not feeling well and have symptoms that are associated with Covid-19. Reach out to our registrar, Erika Bryant, to alert her to your child's absence so that they absence can be excused. Please note that scholars who are absent for 3 days or more must return with a written excuse, preferably from a doctor. We thank you for doing your part to keep our school healthy. We, too, are working to keep everyone healthy and safe by minimizing touchpoints, limiting the sharing of materials, cleaning common areas more frequently, misting classrooms nightly, spacing scholars out in the cafeteria during lunch, having classes play in separate recess zones, reminding scholars to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds whenever they go to the restroom, frequently using hand sanitizer and keeping hand sanitizing stations located throughout the campus, having masks available to anyone who would like to wear one, and using bottle fillers instead of the water fountains.
TE Spelling Bee
It’s Spelling Bee time! Our school spelling bee will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 8:30am in the cafeteria. The top two scholars from each classroom Spelling Bee has been invited to participate. The campus coordinator will begin practicing with all participants this week to ensure they understand the rules and procedures. Practice will be held during school hours.
Due to Covid-19, visitors will not be allowed to attend the Spelling Bee. We will live stream the event via Zoom to ensure that parents and guardians are able to watch. For security purposes we will send the Zoom link the day before the Spelling Bee. If you have any questions, please contact Chasity Stoneham at chasity.stoneham@humbleisd.net. Thank you for helping make this year’s Spelling Bee a success!
