PAWS for PRIDE. . .
For January and February we will be celebrating Respect at Titus. Congratulations to last week’s Paws for PRIDE winners: Sela Devine, Lucas George, Mr. Bocklet, Akhil Sethukarthy, Jackson Conolly, Cole Lichtenstein, Joshua Williams, and the vacationing Lucas Rehr.
Students and teachers are chosen at random to be recognized and celebrated for demonstrating one of our five character traits - Pride, Respect, Individual Responsibility, Determination & Empathy. Thank you to all of the Titus families for your support of our Paws for PRIDE program.
Titus' Annual Book Swap . . .
In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we will hold our Annual Titus Book Swap once again this year. We ask that you search your book shelves for gently used trade books, chapter books, children’s cookbooks, etc. to donate to this event. Boxes are located in the rotunda labeled by grade/reading level. Please deposit the books in the appropriate boxes.
We ask each child to donate between 2-4 books. We are looking forward to another successful year of swapping out our favorite titles!!!
Making Titus Beautiful Takes A Lot of Work . . .
The Warrington Township Environmental Advisory Council has presented Titus with a unique opportunity to cultivate a butterfly garden in our front courtyard. In order to begin this process, we are in need of coffee grounds (they can be transported to school in a sealed Ziploc bag) and old newspapers. We will be collecting these items through mid-March.
If we have any Scouts out there looking for a project, we’ve got the perfect one. We would like to build a container to house some of the host plants for our butterflies. We are looking for someone to construct a 1.5 foot by 6 ft. box about 6-8 inches high. If you are interested in building this for our garden, please contact Mrs. Walls.
4th Grade Author Skype . . .
Titus 4th graders have been very enthusiastic about their reading recently in preparation for an author Skype session with Whatever After and Upside Down Magic author, Sarah Mlynowski.
Students all received signed copies of her book and had the opportunity to Skype with Ms. Mlynowski in a question and answer session to learn more about what life is like as an author, how she writes her books, and even asked for some advice as aspiring authors. The students enjoyed speaking with a known professional author, and even got to hear some ideas of hers for future books!
CB Logo Contest . . .
The district is redesigning our logo and website for a fresh, contemporary look and feel. We are holding a logo design contest open to all Central Bucks students, K-12. The winner will receive a $500 scholarship. The deadline is March 3rd at 8:00 AM.
You can read more here. Please send any questions to Mr. Brian Merrill.
