Wildwood in the News

Thank you to the Wildwood PTA and all members of our school community who played a part in organizing and delivering a very thoughtful and delicious Staff Appreciation Week. "Offering Kindness and Encouragement" is one of our school's 4 core values, and we certainly felt that heartfelt support this week!

We are also thankful for the opportunity to share Wildwood's uniquely special community spirit with the Greater Conejo Valley through an article recently published in the Thousand Oaks Acorn. Click HERE to view the article.

Warmly,

Mr. Lynch

VIP Picnic Lunch Details

Wildwood will be holding its final VIP (Very Important Person) Picnic Lunch for this school year on Friday, May 12. We encourage every student to invite 1 adult to join them on campus for lunch on this day. This VIP will bring lunch and a blanket or chair to enjoy a picnic-style lunch with their special Tiger on campus. As always, students are welcome to order lunch from the cafeteria on this day.

Please use THIS form to pre-register for this special event. Preregistration will close at 3pm on Thursday, May 11.

School Spirit Day - May 19

Our next school spirit day is May 19. The theme is "Luau Dress-up Day", and we will be holding an all-school Luau for students from 1:10-2:30pm on this day. TK and Kinder will still dismiss at 1:20pm on this school day, but we encourage any families who would like their TK or Kinder student to stay for the fun to connect with your child's teacher to make arrangements for a 2:35pm pick-up on this day.

At our Luau, we will be honoring 5 special staff members who will be leaving Wildwood at the end of this school year. We are thankful for their many years of service to the Wildwood community and wish them well in the next stage of their journeys.

  • Hilary Calce (Kindergarten Teacher)
  • Kris James (2nd Grade Teacher)
  • Lauren Piper (Art Masters Coordinator and Instructor)
  • Robin Cookus (PE Teacher)
  • Tracy Rogers (PE Teacher)

STEAM Specialist

5-10 hours/week

The STEAM teacher’s primary role will be to facilitate developmentally appropriate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning activities and experiences to engage and foster student interest in the STEAM disciplines. Certification not required. Contact Mr. Lynch at klynch@conejousd.org to learn more or express interest.

If you or someone you know has experience providing learning experiences in music and/or the performing arts, please contact Mr. Lynch at klynch@conejousd.org.

Birthdays at Wildwood

At Wildwood Elementary, we enjoy honoring students on their birthdays. Please know that you do not have to send treats or gifts with your child on his or her birthday. Teachers take great pride in helping your child feel treasured on their special day. If you do feel the need to send something for your child, please do not send any food items or pass them out to students before or after school. Instead, consider sending small non-edible treats (stickers, pencils, etc.) or a small class gift such as a board game, book, or puzzle with your child's name and birthday on it.

By collectively following these guidelines, our birthday students will be celebrated and the wellness of all members of our Tiger family will be elevated.
