Our Community, Our School
Leonardtown High School is the largest of three public high schools in St. Mary’s County. Our population is 1,865. We are a comprehensive school offering preparatory programs, and programs designed to prepare students for business and technical occupations. Our school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools and the Maryland State Department of Education. As a large and academically heterogeneous community, we strive to actively engage all students to be productive, responsible, self-disciplined, life-long learners who respect diversity in a global society while exercising leadership, critical thinking and creativity.
