Cell Phone Policy
The following guidelines will apply to the possession and use of mobile devices: • Students may use mobile devices, which include smart phones or watches, in an instructional setting only for approved classroom assignments/projects. • Using mobile devices to take pictures, videos, or to transfer information and documents or files during class is prohibited unless specifically approved by the teacher. • Students will be permitted to use their mobile devices before and after school, between class periods, and during lunch, as long as students follow KISD Student Guidelines for Acceptable and Responsible Use of Technology Resources. • The use of any mobile device or any device capable of capturing images or videos is strictly prohibited in locker rooms or restroom areas while at school or at school-related or school sponsored events. • Students must set their mobile devices to emit no sound or vibrate at all times. • Unauthorized, non-KISD technology should not be connected to the Klein ISD wireless or wired network. If used inappropriately, students mobile devices will be confiscated and returned at the discretion of the principal. The student may also be subject to disciplinary actions. Students should understand that possession of the above permitted devices can pose a risk of loss or theft. It is strongly recommended that students properly label and take steps to ensure safekeeping. The school will not be liable for loss or damage due to theft, negligence, or any other circumstance.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
School offices do not open until 8:00 a.m. Students are not to arrive on campus prior to 8:00 a.m. unless attending a pre-arranged event with teacher supervision (i.e., practice, tutorials, morning detention).
Reminder: Please refrain from early dismissals after 3:40pm (unless an emergency), as this creates issues for carpool. Safety is our first priority.
Students are to leave or be picked up from campus by 4:05 p.m. unless attending an activity supervised by an adult. When it becomes a frequent recurrent to arrive early and/or stay late, parents will be contacted to remedy the situation. After repeated attempts in working with the parents and if the school administration feels a student is unsafe due to early arrival/late departure from campus, principals will seek other means to remedy the situation.
