Genius?
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
- Albert Einstein
The debate about whether Einstein had a learning disability or not has become a highly-researched, contentious issue among scholars over the years since his passing. Some contend that he was dyslexic, others offer that he had traits that would indicate Asperger's, others still claim that he suffered from test anxiety and poor memorization skills. Regardless, his genius cannot be disputed. Perhaps it was these factors that led him to make the statement above. The reality is that as the people who are key to our student's successes, it is not our job to judge, it is our job to teach. Sometimes our students are fish trying to climb trees, yet we can still use everyday to help them find their genius!

Benjamin Franklin, the Father of DST?
Many sources also credit Benjamin Franklin with being the first to suggest seasonal time change. However, the idea voiced by the American inventor and politician in 1784 can hardly be described as fundamental for the development of modern DST. After all, it did not even involve turning the clocks. In a letter to the editor of the Journal of Paris, which was entitled “An Economical Project for Diminishing the Cost of Light”, Franklin simply suggested that Parisians could economize candle usage by getting people out of bed earlier in the morning. What's more: Franklin meant it as a joke.
