Terry Branstad
Governor, Terry Branstad was born, raised and educated in Iowa. He was elected to Iowa House in 1972, 74 and 76. Terry was Iowa's longest-serving governor. In October 2009, sensing need for a change in a way state government operates and wanting to "lead Iowa's comeback", Branstad retired from DMU to explore running for governor in 2010.
