Lee, Rogers, Wiley Newsletter
Week of January 14th
What's Happening?
As the weather begins to get colder, it is required that students are dressed appropriately for recess in order to go outside with the group. Please encourage your child to bring a heavy coat and wear pants (not shorts) on the cold days ahead.
Report Cards are in today's Friday Folder. Please sign on the line below First Semester Final Grade and return the envelope by Monday.
In February, students participate in the Georgia Student Health Survey. This is an online survey for students to complete. You will find more information about this in your child's Friday Folder. If you would not like your child participating in this survey, please sign and return the form that is in the Friday Folder. We only need this form returned if you do not want your child to participate.

Reading and Word Study with Mrs. Lee
Reading: We will be focusing on reading to gain insight into hot topics. Students are reading a variety of texts from editorials to informational books and articles on their hot topic. Students will use their research to determine their claim and create an argument about their hot topic. They will be working in research groups to complete the majority of the work. We will end the unit with small, organized debates within the research groups.
Word Study: Word Study continues this week. The roots for the week are aqua, hydra, hydro. Homework (online and paper) is due on Friday. The test will also be on Friday.
