CELTA Main Course Tutor (MCT)
Robert Fletcher graduated with honours from Swansea University with a language degree in 1982. His original ambition was to teach modern languages, but he soon realised how much more satisfying it was to teach English to those who needed it for international communication. He started working for International House in the UK in 1990 and ran his first teacher training course at entry level in 1995. Robert is now a very experienced teacher and teacher trainer who has worked within the International House World Organisation for the last 27 years. During this time he has prepared many hundreds of trainees for both the CELTA initial teacher training course and the Delta, an advanced course which is run at Masters level. He has run teacher training courses in the UK, Spain, Belarus, Lithuania, Serbia, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Slovenia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, China, Canada and Australia. Most recently, Robert worked at International House Newcastle, UK, as the Head of Teacher Training. He speaks five languages and his particular interest is the teaching of literacy. In his down time, Robert likes to go to the sauna, cycle and look after his grandchildren.
