St. Damian Celebrates Veterans Day

We planned a wonderful parade for our children and we didn't let the rain stop us! Our faculty, staff, and students quickly moved to plan B and held a lovely parade and service in our church.

One of the highlights of the day, was certainly a last minute phone call to our school asking if the news could broadcast our students live! Unfortunately, we don't have links to share as of yet, but, we have been in contact with the stations and are hoping to have those to share. But, until then, enjoy a video which provides some highlights from the day.

On a final note, the television station could not have been more positive when discussing the kindness of our entire school!

Veterans Day 2021

Early Dismissal November 30, 2021 - Bus Service and Lunch Available - NO Extended Day

In an effort to help our teachers and our staff learn strategies to help students and themselves with anxiety, stress, anger, and depression and to not engage in negative behaviors, we will begin a Whole Brain Wellness Program. This offers practical strategies in all of the above mentioned. We are beginning training on November 30, 2021, therefore will need a solid block of time. The other sessions will be quicker sessions which should be able to be done before the students arrive or after dismissal.

Late Nite Catechism Comes to St. Damian

We are very excited to announce that our fundraiser this year will be "Late Nite Catechism" on March 24, 2022. While we have secured the event, quite a bit of planning will need to be put in place. We would love for you to join our committee. Please contact Mrs. Ward if you would like to help us out. We really do need you. There are a variety of opportunities large and small to be involved! Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you!

We hope you enjoyed your parent/teacher conferences. Please reach out if we can do anything else for you as we wrap up the calendar year!

And, please stay safe and healthy! Sadly, the COVID cases are once again on the rise.

Volunteers and COVID - 19 Vaccine

Beginning on October 31, 2021, all volunteers, including coaches, will need to either submit a COVID-19 Vaccine Card or proof of a negative test to work with our students.

This is per the Governor's mandate for schools. Please understand that if we do not follow the Governor's mandate, we will lose our non public recognition and not be able to play any athletics among other stipulations. All schools within The Archdiocese of Chicago are following the same guidance.

Please bring your card to the main office and we will keep an excel spreadsheet indicated that you have been vaccinated.
