2018-2019 5th Grade Fee
Great News! Suwanee Elementary PTA is keeping it simple this year. We will be collecting a $10 fee from all 5th grade students that will cover all 5th grade events throughout the year. Students won’t have to pay for each event individually and will have their permission slip for these events already filled out.
The 5th grade fee includes:
5th Grade Game Night
Refreshments at 5th Grade Graduation Ceremony
5th Grade Off Campus Celebration (includes games, inflatables, transportation and more)
Thank you!
Janet and the 5th grade Committee
Students may pick-up Reflection applications from our Art Teacher, Mrs. Lemoine. Applications are due by Friday, 9/21.
Suwanee Strives for Academic Excellence
Across the North Gwinnett Cluster, teachers and students are focusing on reading and literacy! Greater reading stamina is one component of increasing reading performance.
Why is this important?
"Reading performance measures the capacity to understand, use and reflect on written texts in order to achieve goals, develop knowledge and potential, and participate in society." (OECD)
What does it look like?
You will see students reading independently for stretches of time. This gives teachers time to pull small groups or conference 1-on-1 with students about their reading.
How can parents help?
It is simple! Read to your kids and allow them time to read whenever possible. Of course there will be nights when activities and life get in the way. That is true for any of us. What is even better than the skills it teaches our kids is the time it allows us to have with them. If you have questions, please ask your teacher or call the front office!
