COVID - 19 Reminders
During this time, it is more important than ever that we partner together to keep our families safe. Below are a few scenarios and reminders of the guidelines provided by the CDC and the Indiana Department of Health.
AWAITING TEST RESULTS
o If ANYONE in the house is being tested or awaiting results, the student must stay home. If a student is tested, they must stay home until results are received.
POSITIVE TEST
o If an individual tests positive, they must isolate at home for 10 days from the start of symptoms (if no symptoms it is from the positive test date).
WHEN TO GET TESTED
o If you choose to get tested after a known exposure, it is recommended that testing take place 5-7 days after the exposure or onset of symptoms. Please contact your healthcare provider for additional guidance.
MASKS
o It is important that your child wear a mask at the appropriate times. We are asking that all children wear a mask while on the school bus, while walking in the hallways, or at any other time when they are unable to socially distance.
Please remember that it is our goal to keep EVERYONE as safe as possible. We need your help to do so. If you have questions, please call the school office.
School Messenger
Huntington County Community School Corporation uses SchoolMessenger to send notices to all staff and parents/guardians of school delays, closings, and emergency notifications via email and text. To sign up to receive the text messages, please:
- Make sure your cell phone number is up to date in PowerSchool. Contact your school secretary to confirm or make changes
- Text to 67587 the letter Y for “Yes”
- Once you receive a reply text, be sure to “Opt In”
- If you wish to not receive text messages, you may “Opt Out” at any time by texting N for “No” to the same number
Please be sure to keep your cell phone number and email address up to date with your building secretary in PowerSchool in the event of any change in number or email address to ensure you continue to receive notifications as PowerSchool synchronizes with SchoolMessenger during the night. Updating your cell phone number will require you to sign up again using the steps above after the synchronization. Be sure to white list the email address noreply@hccsc.k12.in.us when logged in to your email account.

Basketball Guidelines
In order to have spectators at basketball games, we will be following some strict guidelines. We are limiting our gym capacity during games. For this reason, we will only be allowing 2 spectators per athlete to attend games. Student athletes will receive 2 vouchers to be used for games. The vouchers must be presented at the ticket table in order to purchase tickets and enter the gym.
- All spectators will wear masks throughout the game.
- Spectators will socially distance throughout the game.
- All spectators must be seated in the bleachers.
- Areas of the bleachers that are taped off should not be used as seating.
- Concessions will not be sold.
