Reading Eggs Update
The test contains five questions that relate to each map on the Reading Eggs pathway. When a child gets three answers incorrect they are placed at the map those questions relate to and begin their Reading Eggs journey from that point.
You can reset the placement test for students at any time through Student Progress*. Once you have selected the student(s) that you would like to redo the test you can select Change Progress from above the student list and then select the Reset Placement Test option.
After the Placement Test has been completed you will see which level your students have been placed in Student Stats under the Initial column. You can also use Manage Progress to change a student’s lesson level.

READING LESSONS
Reading lessons are the core of the Reading Eggs resource. Each lesson builds on the previous one to build skills in the five key areas needed to become a good reader: phonemic awareness and phonics, sight words, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.
Students now also receive instant recommendation of READING LESSONS (after completing reading lesson 10).
SPELLING LESSON
The Skills Bank Spelling lessons are the core of the ABC Reading Eggs learn-to-spell program. The Spelling Vault contains 96 carefully graded spelling lessons for the first three years of school, focusing on a 12-word spelling list with 32 lessons per year level.
Automatic recommendation of SPELLING LESSONS are now offered after the child has completed reading lesson 40
REPORTS
Teachers can view class usage and student reporting through the Student Stats function within the Teacher Centre, including
- Reading Report (Reading Eggs)
- Spelling Report (Reading Eggs)
- Driving Report (Reading Eggs)
- Storylands Report (Reading Eggs)
- Comprehension Gym (Reading Eggspress)
- Library Report (Reading Eggspress)
You can use the reporting function to monitor what the students have completed and achieved, printing reports and certificates as required. A Subscription Coordinator can see information for the whole school and has a School Stats tab under Management on their menu bar, rather than Student Stats.
Helpful tip: Within each screen of the Student Stats you will see a printer symbol in the top right hand side of the screen, when you select this it will print the results screen that you are viewing.
