Where it came from
Amendment 3 came from the Quartering Act of 1765. King George III created a law that said the colonists had to house the British Troops if there wasn't enough room in local businesses. They had to take care of the soldiers like they would their own family. They had to buy them food and supply them with clothes. Colonists were upset they didn't have a say in their government that is why we have the Third Amendment.
