Updates for Stilwell Junior High School Families
November 28, 2022
Message from Principal Kuhnert
Coming back from break can be hard for some students. We all experience time away differently. The morning after a break our staff tries to reconnect with students and check in on their mental health. We also don't know what has been happening on social media during the time away so we look for any indicators students might be stuggling. We do this daily but just a reminder of the professionals your students get to work with. We care about our kids and at Stilwell I talk all the time about our community and what we want it to be. Parents one thing that we will be working on this week is lunch time expectations. As students get more comfortable we forget about some of the rules that make our community safe. You will see a review lesson and I hope that you talk to your students about your expectations of them while they are at school. Some easy things to review are:
1. Make sure we don't cut infront of others.
2. If I make a mess, I am responsible to clean it up.
3. Once I select a seat that is where I need to stay for the whole time.
4. Be safe when leaving and don't run or push others.
These seem very obvious rules but it only takes a few students to not follow and we have challenges.
Parents if you ever want to come support our staff during lunch we invite you to join us by emailing Mr. Kuhnert or Mr. Perrigo on the days you can help. Lunch times on M,T,Th,F are 10:40am- 11:10am (7th) and 11:31am- 12:01pm (8th) and on W 10:20am- 10:50am (7th) and 11:05am- 11:35am (8th).

Winter is Coming!:
Some notes to our families as the weather turns colder. We do still have students wait outside unless they come in to eat breakfast so wear jackets, hats, and gloves. We do not allow students to have blankets during the school day so again dress in warmer clothes if you are cold during the day.
