PowerSchool Enrollment
All returning students for the 2021-22 school year must complete their annual PSE enrollment form for the 2021-22 school year no later than May 14th. This can be done by logging in and selecting the "Enrollment 2021-22" link under the "Navigation" menu in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Instructions to complete the enrollment forms are available in English and Spanish here: https://bit.ly/pseinstructions
Some tips for PSE:
- If you have multiple students attending SOAR, you will need to submit a form for each student. You can toggle between students in the PowerSchool parent portal by clicking their names at the top left of the screen.
- The enrollment forms will only be available in the parent portal.
- If you do not have a home phone and are using cell phones as your main points of contact, please be sure to duplicate these numbers as your home phone AND your cell phone.
- Don't forget to update your email address.
- If you require a PowerSchool password reset, please complete this form request: http://bit.ly/pspasswordreset
Please email Mrs. Schaeffer at jschaeffer@avhsd.org if you require assistance.
Please Make Attendance a Priority
Attendance has a direct correlation to student success! If students miss a high school class for an excusable reason, parents/guardians must email Mrs. Andrews to clear the absence: jandrews@avhsd.org and students must follow up with teachers for assignments. Students should follow up directly with college instructors in the case of an absence. Next week is AVC finals. Although we are not on campus, we are still responsible for record keeping. Please make attending both your high school and college classes a priority!
Again, if a student misses a high school class, parents must contact Mrs. Andrews (jandrews@avhsd.org) to clear the absence. We really appreciate your support with this matter!
Check Out Our Virtual Calming Room!
The AVUHSD's Virtual Calming Room was recently designed to assist students in identifying strategies for managing their feelings and emotions. Consisting of mental health supports, mindfulness activities, guided meditations, live Zoo cameras, and much more, this website comes at the perfect time! Please check it out at the following link: https://bit.ly/AVcalm

STOPIt SafeScreen Procedures
With that said, once we are able to bring back in-person instruction, students must complete a self-assessment on the STOPIt website each day prior to coming to campus. Again, students will be asked to show their screening pass as they enter campus for future in-person instruction. The STOPIt SafeScreen is a web-based, HIPAA-compliant, data-encrypted application designed for any Internet-connected device or smartphone in order to ensure access by all.
If students cannot find the email from STOPIt SafeScreen, please go to the following site to register: https://safescreen.stopitsolutions.com/welcome/6938ece5285241c59491ba57ad309bc3
Please remember to ensure that SOAR High School is listed as your location and that you take the time to add in your cell phone number in the settings in order to receive daily text notifications.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
