Mid-Year Reflection, Part 2
As I sit here and write this I wonder what the crazy weather will end up doing. This has been, in a kid like way, a little fun watching the snow come and go and a part of me wishes it will stick around a little.
This past week I started a series of reflections on the things that I am seeing this year. I will keep it brief this time, but the message is something I hold dear.
I believe we are blessed to have a school culture that is focused on both loving kids and finding joy in what we do. I witness this a lot! I am constantly impressed by our entire staff and their drive. I think this comes from a sense of empowerment that does not merely come from being given permission to try new things, to get messy and to fail. I believe our drive comes from having a belief in what we are doing and ultimately finding joy in growing as professionals. Joy is a weird word at times to use to describe those who work in schools. We constantly have challenges that arise, meeting student needs, kid behaviors, all those non-stop student behaviors, not to mention managing a healthy work-life balance. But I have to call it like I see it. I witness joy from our staff which transfers to our kids. Though the struggle is real, our school is a better place because of the work you do, but mostly because of your why and in turn how you do it.
Thank-you and have a great week!
Glad you’re here!
