“PARENTS-IN-ACTION”VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION MEETING
WHAT: Join us for our annual volunteer meeting to organize our committees for the 2023-2024 school year.
WHO: At least one parent from all TWBI students
WHEN: Wednesday, September 13th from 5:00-6:30 pm
WHERE: Different location for each committee
WHY: This MANDATORY meeting is our one chance to organize our committees and make plans for the school year. Our volunteer program (Parents-In-Action) is our chance to give back to Bijou and truly make a difference in the lives of our children. Thank you all so much for all that you do!
SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL PARENT ELECTION
Please vote for three parent representatives to join our School Site Council for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years.
Elections will close on Monday 9/11 at 9am.
SEPTEMBER SCHOOL SPIRIT DAYS

WALK-A-THON
The Bijou Walk-a-thon will be held on Thursday, September 21st from 8:45-10:45 am.
The walk-a-thon helps raise funds for our school for both educational and physical opportunities, and to promote school spirit. This money supports our PTA budget. PLEASE support our biggest fundraiser!! All families and friends are encouraged to come walk with, run with, or simply support their children! Students will ask relatives and friends to sponsor their efforts! We are asking for a $.25 minimum donation per lap walked or flat donations.
There will be many awards given to students who raise the most money, students who walk/run the most laps, and students who try the hardest! EVERY Walk-a-Thon participant will be recognized.
All Walk-a-thon monies are due by Friday, Sept. 29th.

VOLUNTEERING
Parent volunteers are an essential component of our TWBI program. We appreciate the commitment you made to sign up for a parent committee and volunteer within the classroom. In order to volunteer, you must have completed the Volunteer Packet. If you completed a volunteer packet in a previous year, you are already in the system and are good to volunteer with teacher permission! If you have not completed the volunteer packet it is available at this link: Volunteer Packet. If you have any questions about your volunteer status you can check with Julia in the office.

We are excited to announce that LTUSD will continue to use the school-to-home communications platform called ParentSquare. If you have not, please accept the invitation you should have received separately from Aeries Communication so that all school/grade level and classroom information will continue to be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text.
