Meadowbrook News
June 3, 2022
From Mrs. Sawatzky
Good afternoon Meadowbrook,
Just like that - the school year has come to an end! Thank you for trusting us with your children, the ongoing support for our students and staff, and your partnership as we have navigated another school year with Covid. To those of you whose time at Meadowbrook has come to an end, we will miss you but you will always be part of the Meadowbrook family. If there is anything I can be helpful with in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out. And, if you see me in the community, please say hi; it's always fun catching up with you.
June is LGBTQ Pride month and I have so much pride when it comes to the love, acceptance and inclusivity that our students demonstrate with one another. To our LGBTQ community members, thank you for your courage to be yourself. We love and support you!
I had previously communicated that we are saying goodbye to Mrs. Mindy Erdal and Mr. David Bell. Additionally, we are saying goodbye to Ms. Goldi Johnson, Ms. Monica Goodrum, Ms. Macy Schuler, Mr. Mohamed Moustafa, Ms. Laurie Traxler, and Ms. Diane Dukowitz. We appreciate all the contributions these individuals made to our community this year and wish them the best in their next adventure.
Thanks again for a great school year! Meadowbrook is a special place and YOU help make this true! I look forward to continuing our partnership.
In gratitude,
Natalie
Please come check the lost and found next Monday and Tuesday. We will be donating all remaining items on Wednesday, June 8th. Also, the office will be closed at the end of next week through the beginning of August. I will be working a modified schedule (with some vacation sprinkled throughout). The best way to contact me is through email at natalie.sawatzky@hopkinsschools.org.
Transportation Registration for 2022-23
Like many other school districts, Hopkins is moving towards an opt-in transportation policy. If you need transportation, you must register. This week, you should have received an email from Hopkins Public Schools from “noreply@qemailserver.com” asking you to select your needs for transportation for next school year.
Please fill out this registration survey for each of your children before June 12. If you have multiple children, you received an email for each child. If you or someone you know did not receive a form for a child, you can use this open form (you/they will need to populate the child’s information).

From Nurse Karen
Happy Summer!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support this past school year. Covid was a tough one, but we all came together and even though it was difficult at times, we made it. I truly wish you all a healthy and happy summer.
I have summer wellness reminders for you. Wearing your helmets, lifejackets, sunscreen, and plenty of bug spray will help you enjoy the summertime and stay safe. Summer is also a great time to take time for rest and quiet. Read lots of books! Explore new places! Attend an art fair! Go to the parks and listen to music (we are so blessed to have free music all around us!). Volunteer!
Thank you again, Meadowbrook. Fall will be here before we know it!

COVID-19 Updates
Hopkins Public Schools COVID-19 Dashboard remains live on our website. Please remember to have your child complete a daily health screening every day before attending school. It is very important that you keep your child home if they are experiencing any signs of illness.
Please note, our isolation and quarantine protocols have changed. We have shortened our isolation requirements to a five-day protocol for students who meet the requirements. You can review the changes here.
Testing
While supplies last, we will continue our weekly saliva testing program for scholars and staff. Due to an Omicron subvariant and spring travel, we’re seeing an increase in cases. We have plenty of rapid test kits for our scholars’ and families’ use. If you want a test kit, even for peace of mind, please see your school nurse or main office and ask for one.
The Meadowbrook PTO has a new website, check it out! This is where you can access the online directory and so much more!
