Downloading New Browsers
Exporting & Importing Bookmarks
If your version of Firefox or Chrome is very outdated you may not see the option to check for updates. In this case you will need to download the new version and then delete your old version of the browser. Before you do this you should export your bookmarks if you have many that you frequently use. Follow the steps below to complete these tasks.
Exporting Bookmarks
Firefox
Click on Bookmarks and then Show All Bookmarks.
Click on the star icon that appears in the left corner of the box.
Click Export Bookmarks to HTML.
You can change the name of the file and select the location to save them, usually the desktop if easiest.
Chrome
Click on Bookmarks and then Bookmark Manager.
Click on Organize.
Click Export Bookmarks to HTML.
You can change the name of the file and select the location to save them, usually the desktop if easiest.
Click on Bookmarks and then Show All Bookmarks.
Click on the star icon that appears in the left corner of the box.
Click Export Bookmarks to HTML.

Downloading New Browsers
Go to the site and download the newest version. Follow the directions to save the download file to the desktop.
Firefox- https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
Chrome- https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html
You will then have to quit the browser you are replacing, Firefox or Chrome, and delete the current version. After quitting, go to the Application Folder and click Open in Finder at the bottom of the folder. Drag the browser you are replacing to the trash.
Find the new version you downloaded to your desktop and double click to start the installation process. Follow the directions on your screen to download the browser.
