Last Quarterly PBIS Celebration
This nine weeks students will continue to use their self-monitoring sheets. However, instead of their points going towards a quarterly celebration, students will be using their points to purchase privileges. The privileges range from 10 points to 100 points. This creates a wonderful opportunity for you to discuss spending and saving habits with your child. A hard copy of the menu of privileges will be sent home with students this week.

Bits and Pieces
- Please continue to work on multiplication. We are now starting to learn about the relationship between multiplication and division, so those Dollar Tree flash cards can do double duty! I am finding that many students do not even know their basic multiplication facts.
- We are working on opinion writing this nine weeks. Students need to be able to express an opinion, and give reasons and examples to support their opinion. Our class is writing about whether kids should be allowed to watch as much tv as they want.
- We are in the process of completing our mid-year reading assessments that are required by the state. Once they are complete, students will be taking home a Home Connect letter with valuable information about your child's current reading level.
- Stay tuned for mid-year conference sign-ups following completion of these assessments.
